Getting Started
Requirements
- A modern browser: Google Chrome 89+ or Microsoft Edge 89+ (Web Serial support required for live ECU connection)
- A Speeduino or Megasquirt ECU connected via USB or a USB-to-serial adapter
Safari and Firefox do not support the Web Serial API. You can still load and edit tune files (MSQ) in those browsers, but live ECU connection requires Chrome or Edge.
Opening the app
Navigate to the application in your browser. On your first visit you will see this documentation; once you have read what you need, click Open App in the top navigation.
The app loads entirely in your browser. There is no software to install.
Loading an ECU definition
VE Tuner needs an ECU definition file (.ini) to know how to interpret your ECU's data. On connection, compatible ECUs are detected automatically and the correct definition is loaded from the built-in library.
You can also load a definition manually via Connection Setup → Load INI file.
Loading a tune file
If you have an existing tune file in MSQ format, load it via Connection Setup → Load MSQ file. The tune will be displayed in the editors and can be saved back to a file or written to a connected ECU.
