Terms of Service

Effective date: 13 March 2026

These terms govern your use of VETuner ("the Service"), a browser-based ECU tuning application operated at vetuner.co.uk ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Description of the Service

VETuner is a web application that parses ECU definition files and communicates with engine control units over USB/serial. It allows you to view and edit tuning tables, visualise real-time sensor data, and perform volumetric efficiency analysis.

Account registration

You may use parts of the Service without an account. Certain features require registration. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering and promptly update it if it changes.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Subscriptions and payments

Paid features are billed through Polar.sh. Subscription terms, pricing, and cancellation are presented at the point of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Refunds are handled in accordance with Polar's policies and applicable consumer law.

Bug report incentive programme

We may offer a free subscription to the first user who reports a confirmed, fixable bug. Eligibility is determined at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue this programme at any time without notice. Submitting a bug report grants us the right to use the diagnostic data contained in the report — including application screenshots, DOM snapshots, browser information, and application state — for the purpose of diagnosing, reproducing, and fixing issues in the Service. Bug reports are stored as confidential issues in our private GitLab repository and are only accessible to project maintainers.

ECU tuning disclaimer

Engine tuning carries inherent risk. Incorrect fuel, ignition, or boost maps can cause engine damage, fire, or personal injury. VETuner is a tool — it does not validate whether a particular set of values is safe for your engine, vehicle, or circumstances.

You acknowledge that:

We accept no liability for damage to engines, vehicles, or other property, or for personal injury, arising from the use of the Service.

Intellectual property

All content, design, and software comprising the Service are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your use of the Service does not grant you any ownership rights.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your breach of these terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including liability limitations and indemnification) will remain in effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
